After correct installation, the system loads Index Markers automatically when you start FrameMaker and displays it as a new item Index Markers by Configuration in the FINALYSER menu in FrameMaker’s menu bar.
You use the Index Markers plug-in as follows:
1. Open the document that you want to edit (a book file or an individual document). You do not need to open book chapters first.
2. Click on Index Markers by Configuration>Edit Configuration to create a new configuration file or to edit it.If a configuration file does not yet exist for the active document name[.Ext], the system opens template FrameMaker_Home\fminit\Plugins\FINALYSER\docs\TemplGIX.fm as DocName.gix. Read the information, fill out the configuration table and save the file. After saving the configuration file DocName.gix the system asks you whether you want to update the binary data or not (file DocName.bix in the same directory).
3. Click on Index Markers by Configuration>Enter Index Markers. If no file DocName.bix exists in the directory of the active document, a standard dialog opens and you can choose any appropriate *.bix. This gives you the opportunity to create configuration files that are shared by several documents.
4. A configuration file DocName.gix, containing much more find strings than
available in the Book/Document, can be optimized using the command Index Markers by List>Filter List: all table rows containing a find string that has no hit will be deleted.. This function opens all book components in the background. We recommend to close other applications when applying Filter List on a huge book.
Hinweis: The system saves changed files in the book without prompting you ! You can prevent automatic saving by opening the book files(Shift + File > Open All Files in Book).
